Kyle Anderson Signs with Warriors in Sign-and-Trade Deal with Timberwolves
Former Timberwolves player Kyle Anderson has agreed to a lucrative three-year deal with the Golden State Warriors in a sign-and-trade transaction with the Timberwolves.
The Warriors will be sending a future second-round pick swap and cash to the Timberwolves in exchange for Anderson’s services.
Anderson’s departure from the Timberwolves comes as the team tries to manage their salary cap and luxury tax bill, which was already substantial after recent roster moves.
During his time with the Timberwolves, Anderson played a crucial role in filling in for Karl-Anthony Towns during the star player’s absence due to injury.
Despite facing challenges such as an eye injury and position adjustments, Anderson remained a respected figure in the Timberwolves locker room for his leadership and valuable contributions.
Anderson’s departure creates opportunities for younger players like Leonard Miller, Josh Minott, and Terrence Shannon Jr to step up in the Timberwolves’ lineup.
Aside from Anderson, another former Timberwolves player, Monte Morris, also found a new home with the Phoenix Suns as part of the free agency moves.
The Timberwolves are now tasked with filling the roster gaps left by Anderson and Morris as they plan for the upcoming season. Free agent Jordan McLaughlin remains a key player for the team.
Head coach Chris Finch expressed his support for Anderson’s decision to join the Warriors, emphasizing the impact Anderson had both on and off the court during his time with the Timberwolves.
