A Labour councillor named Ricky Jones has found himself in hot water after making some shocking comments during a protest in Walthamstow, East London. He was filmed saying that far-right demonstrators deserved to have their throats cut, a statement that immediately raised eyebrows and sparked outrage.

The footage shows Jones speaking to a crowd, saying, “They are disgusting Nazi fascists and we need to cut all their throats and get rid of them all.” His choice of words and the accompanying gestures left many people wondering how he could possibly think that was acceptable.

In response to the situation, the Labour Party has suspended Jones, making it clear that such behaviour is not tolerated. According to a party spokesperson, “This behaviour is completely unacceptable.” His suspension means he can no longer sit with the Labour group at Dartford Borough Council, where he has been a councillor since 2019.

Ricky Jones’s remarks stirred significant public concern, prompting calls for police action. Reform UK leader Nigel Farage posted a video of Jones’ speech online, urging authorities to arrest him. He went on to criticize Sir Keir Starmer, asking why no action had been taken regarding Jones’s comments.

The Metropolitan Police are now investigating the matter. They said they are aware of the public concern surrounding the video and are treating it as a priority. The police have reportedly arrested a man in his 50s on suspicion of encouraging murder in connection to these events.
