Latrell Mitchell Photo Under Investigation
A photograph of NRL star Latrell Mitchell has come under scrutiny after surfacing on social media. The image, which shows Mitchell leaning over a table with what seems to be a white substance on it, was reportedly taken during a personal appearance he made in Dubbo over the weekend.
The South Sydney Rabbitohs, Mitchell’s club, confirmed they were aware of the photo and have informed the NRL Integrity Unit about it. In a statement, the club mentioned that they will not be making any further comments for now.
Latrell, who is 27 years old, has not played since injuring his foot during a match against his own team in round 18. Despite this, he attended local rugby league games and coaching clinics in Dubbo over the weekend.
While the NRL is already aware of the image, they have not yet launched a formal investigation. South Sydney officials are currently working to verify the authenticity of the photograph.
Matt Rose, who is Mitchell’s adviser and a former manager, was unavailable for comment as he is currently in America and has not seen the image.
The photo also features a blonde woman in the foreground, although her identity has not been confirmed.
At this point, it’s worth noting there are no indications that the white substance in the photo is an illegal drug. However, the attention around the image continues as fans and the media await further information.
