BBC presenter Lauren Laverne has shared some personal news with her fans. The 46-year-old announced on Instagram that she has been diagnosed with cancer.

She mentioned that the cancer was caught early during a routine screening test, and she’s expected to make a full recovery. Laverne expressed gratitude towards the medical team for their incredible care.

As the host of BBC Radio 6 Music’s breakfast show and Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs, Lauren has made a mark in the broadcasting world. She took a moment to thank her family and friends for being extraordinary support during this time.

Laverne urged her followers not to avoid medical tests and appointments. “Half of us will get cancer at some point, and finding out as soon as possible is everything,” she advised.

Besides her radio work, Lauren is known for her TV shows and shot to fame as the lead singer of the 90s pop punk band Kenickie. After sharing her journey on social media, Laverne received an outpouring of love and support from fans and fellow celebrities.
