The match took place at Hoffenheim’s PreZero Arena, where Leipzig struggled to maintain control against their lower-ranked opponents. Leipzig head coach Marco Rose commented on his team’s performance, stating, «It was bumpy in the first half, but we did very well in the second half. In the final third, we just weren’t clear enough.
