Lions Players Face Injuries at Practice
The Detroit Lions had a rough time during Monday’s training camp practice as several key players went down with injuries. Among them were first-round pick Jahmyr Gibbs, who suffered a hamstring injury, and rookie cornerback Terrion Arnold, who was evaluated for an upper body issue.
Running back Jahmyr Gibbs, fresh off a stellar rookie season, exited the session early, leaving the team concerned. He had an impressive year last season, accumulating 945 rushing yards and ten touchdowns, along with 316 receiving yards.
As for the cornerbacks, Arnold wasn’t the only one to go down. Fellow rookie cornerback was checked for an ankle injury after an eventful practice. This has left the Lions thinner in their secondary as they try to prepare for the upcoming season.
Last year, Gibbs played a significant role in the Lions’ journey to the NFC Championship Game and has expressed ambitious goals for the future. He aims to join the ranks of the few players in NFL history who have achieved both 1,000 rushing and 1,000 receiving yards in the same season, a feat accomplished by stars like Christian McCaffrey and Marshall Faulk.
