BC Lions Struggle Against Winnipeg Blue Bombers
The BC Lions faced off against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Sunday night, but unfortunately, it wasn’t their night. The Lions lost the game 20-11, marking their fourth consecutive defeat.
Nathan Rourke, returning to the Lions after some time away, had a tough game. He completed only 8 out of 25 passes for 126 yards, and he threw two interceptions. This was his first game back in the CFL after spending time in the NFL.
Rourke owned up to his performance after the game, saying, “I want to publicly apologize. That was not my best football right there. I didn’t make enough plays.” His struggles were evident, especially when two of his passes were intercepted, one by Deatrick Nichols and another by Tyrell Ford.
The Blue Bombers were more efficient in their play, with quarterback Zach Collaros throwing for 288 yards, which included one touchdown. The only touchdown for the BC Lions came right at the end of the game, during a last-ditch effort when Rourke was sidelined.
This matchup took place at BC Place with a crowd of over 30,000 fans. Despite the loss, the Lions never gave up, but they certainly have some things to work on heading into their upcoming game against the Ottawa REDBLACKS next week.
