Live Updates on Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh Election Results 2024
The 2024 Maharashtra Election Results are eagerly anticipated as the vote counting process unfolds in real-time. Citizens can stay updated on constituency-wise results, including the performance of major political parties such as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Shiv Sena, and Congress. According to the Election Commission of India (ECI) website, the live coverage details who is poised to win and potentially form the government in Maharashtra.
Aaditya Thackeray, a prominent Shiv Sena leader, is reportedly leading by a margin of over nine thousand votes in the Worli constituency. Meanwhile, Milind Deora of the Congress party is trailing in his respective area. The elections have brought forth significant rhetoric from political figures. Kirit Somaiya, a BJP leader, remarked that the electorate rejected what he termed as ‘land jihad, love jihad, and vote jihad,’ expressing support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s strategy. He accused Uddhav Thackeray of betraying the people of Maharashtra in 2019.
Rajan Balkrishna Naik, the BJP candidate from Nalasopara, has also commented on the new mandate, emphasizing that the people’s votes were a response to various allegations against the party. Furthermore, Devendra Fadnavis‘s mother has made headlines with a confident statement anticipating his position as Chief Minister.
Simultaneously, the Uttar Pradesh by-election results are also being closely monitored. This process involves nine assembly constituencies, with the BJP currently leading in six out of these nine seats. The vote counting commenced at 8 AM under stringent security measures. These by-elections, conducted on November 20, are particularly crucial, with the Karhal seat drawing the most interest. This seat became vacant following a win in the Lok Sabha elections from Kannauj, paving the way for Tej Pratap, a notable contender, to seek election.
The by-elections encompass such constituencies as Meerapur in Muzaffarnagar, Kundarki in Moradabad, and Ghaziabad, among others. Despite the results not altering the overall composition of the state assembly, they serve as a pivotal measure of political strength for both ruling and opposition factions. Counting will proceed through multiple rounds, involving a total of 90 candidates, which includes 11 women contestants. The final results are anticipated to hold significant strategic implications.
