Liverpool Football Club has proudly announced a significant milestone in its efforts to nurture football talent globally, with the launch of a new international academy in Bangkok, Thailand. This initiative marks the first time that the renowned Liverpool coaching program will be accessible in this vibrant Southeast Asian nation.

The establishment of the LFC International Academy Thailand comes as part of Liverpool’s strategy to enhance its youth development framework and cater to its extensive fanbase in the region, where football has garnered immense popularity. The academy will provide a comprehensive year-round training program for boys and girls aged between five and 16, catering to players of varying skill levels.

Aimed at teaching the fundamentals of «The Liverpool Way,» the program will facilitate young athletes to hone their technical and tactical skills while instilling core life values such as ambition, commitment, dignity, and unity. Local players will receive guidance from Liverpool FC‘s distinguished coaches, who have been trained in the club’s coaching methodologies, ensuring they experience the same high standards that define the world-renowned academy in Merseyside.

Moreover, a substantial focus will be placed on educating local coaches to foster a culture of excellence in football training. The program’s implementation will be spearheaded by a lead coach from Liverpool, who will be stationed in Thailand to oversee all aspects of the academy. This initiative includes a comprehensive coaching education scheme that will offer certification through the LFC International Academy’s global accreditation.

Ian Rush, the legendary forward and ambassador for the LFC International Academy, expressed his enthusiasm for this venture, saying, “We’re thrilled to launch the first LFC International Academy in Thailand, a region with a profound passion for football and Liverpool FC. Our international coaching programs aim to deliver an exceptional experience for young players. Moreover, investing in coach education is essential, as we believe that local coaches should embrace the same philosophies and techniques we champion at our home in Liverpool.”

He added that this approach would empower both players and coaches to refine their skills and grow both personally and professionally through the ethos of The Liverpool Way.

Meanwhile, Surasak Areesawangkit, the Chief Executive Officer of Liverpool International Academy Thailand, shared his excitement about the project, reinforcing that the desire for Liverpool FC in Thailand is immense. He stated, “Bringing the LFC International Academy to Thailand is indeed a remarkable honor and privilege. The club’s values resonate tremendously in this region and will guide us in creating a truly outstanding program for our youth players.”

The new academy initiative will be hosted at two prominent venues, namely Assumption College Thonburi and Assumption University of Thailand, and it is scheduled to commence operations later this calendar year.

This expansion is a continuation of Liverpool’s goal to inspire and cultivate the next generation of football talent around the world, further extending the club’s commitment to engagement and excellence in football education. As Liverpool FC continues to grow its international presence, enthusiasts in Thailand can anticipate an exciting and fruitful experience through the academy.
