LSU baseball secured a thrilling victory in the Chapel Hill regional opener, walking off against Wofford with a Steven Milam home run that sealed a 4-3 win.
The Tigers showcased their power at the plate, launching four solo home runs during the intense postseason matchup.
Gage Jump took the mound for LSU, delivering a strong performance by striking out nine batters and allowing three runs on six hits over 7.1 innings.
In the early stages of the game, Wofford managed to grab a 2-0 lead with a well-placed hit that eluded Mac Bingham in center field.
LSU responded in the 7th inning as Steven Milam’s solo homer put the Tigers on the scoreboard.
Wofford extended their lead in the 8th inning with a solo shot, setting the stage for a tense late-game showdown.
However, the Tigers fought back fiercely, with Michael Braswell and Jared Jones both launching home runs in the 8th to tie the game.
It was freshman Steven Milam who ultimately stole the show, crushing a walk-off home run in the bottom of the 9th inning to secure victory for LSU.
LSU will now prepare to face the winner of the North Carolina vs. Long Island matchup in their next game scheduled for tomorrow at 4 p.m.
