Mallory Swanson Shines for U.S. at Paris Olympics
Mallory Swanson is on fire for the U.S. Women’s National Team in the Paris Olympics. With another goal on Sunday afternoon in USA’s win over Germany, Swanson became the first Women’s National Team player to score 3 goals in the first 2 games of a single Olympics.
This impressive achievement led to a friendly bet between Cubs manager Craig Counsell and shortstop Dansby Swanson, who happens to be Mallory’s husband. Counsell playfully promised Dansby that if Mallory scored against Germany, the Cubs lineup card for Monday would read “Mallory Swanson’s husband” instead of just “Swanson.”
This light-hearted moment was shared by Taylor McGregor, who relayed the fun bet to fans. It goes to show that even in the midst of competition, there’s room for humor and support.
Jon “Boog” Sciambi went on to share how Dansby enjoys watching Mallory and the U.S. team play as a dedicated fan, showing that family ties can add an extra layer of excitement to the games.
