A tragic incident unfolded in the NSW Central West town of Forbes, as 28-year-old Molly Ticehurst was found lifeless in her residence on Young Street. Police responded to a distress call in the early hours of Monday, revealing a scene described as ‘brutal’ by authorities.

Daniel Billings, a 29-year-old man, was swiftly apprehended at a property in Fifield, about an hour away from Forbes, and taken into custody at Parkes Police Station. He now faces charges of murder (DV) and contravening an apprehended violence order, shedding light on a harrowing case of alleged domestic violence.

Central West Police District crime manager, Detective Inspector Jason Darcy, expressed the gravity of the situation, emphasizing the violent nature of the crime scene. He noted the troubling history between Ticehurst and Billings, stating it was a relationship marked by brutality.

Investigations have revealed that Billings, who was on bail for another offense at the time, had reportedly visited Ticehurst’s workplace recently, prompting concerns and leading to his removal from the premises. This revelation serves as a crucial aspect of the ongoing probe into the tragic events that transpired.

Despite the legal measures in place, Billings was refused bail and is set to appear at Orange Local Court to address the charges. Ticehurst, a dedicated childcare worker and mother, was described by her father, Tony Ticehurst, as a beloved individual cherished by many.

The loss of Molly Ticehurst has deeply impacted her family and community, raising awareness once again on the urgent need to address and prevent instances of domestic violence. The unfolding details of this case highlight the complexities and devastating consequences of such heinous acts.
