Man Charged with Murder and Attempted Murder in Bournemouth Beach Stabbing Incident
A 20-year-old man has been charged with murder and attempted murder following a tragic stabbing incident on Durley Chine Beach in Bournemouth. The incident, which took place on the night of May 24, resulted in the death of Amie Gray, a 34-year-old personal trainer from Poole, Dorset. Another woman, aged 38, was also injured in the attack and has since been discharged from the hospital.
The accused, Nasen Saadi from Croydon, south London, is scheduled to appear before Poole Magistrates’ Court in connection with the charges. The investigation, led by Dorset Police’s Major Crime Investigation Team, has been described as extensive and fast-moving, with forensic examinations conducted at multiple locations in Bournemouth and Croydon.
Det Supt Richard Dixey expressed condolences to the families of the victims and emphasized the importance of allowing the justice system to proceed without interference. Amie Gray, who served as the head coach of a women’s indoor football team, succumbed to multiple stab wounds, as confirmed by an inquest into her tragic death. Her wife, Sian, and mother, Sharon Macklin, paid emotional tributes to her, highlighting her vibrant and kind-hearted nature.
The surviving victim, who remains unnamed, was treated for serious stab wounds and has now been discharged from the hospital. The heightened police presence in the area is set to continue as the investigation progresses.
