A man was critically injured at Kings Island theme park outside Cincinnati after entering a restricted area near the Banshee roller coaster, park officials reported.

The incident occurred around 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the amusement park, known for its thrilling rides and attractions.

The man, whose identity remains undisclosed, was found with a critical injury in the restricted zone and swiftly taken to University of Cincinnati West Chester Hospital.

From there, he was transferred via helicopter to the UC Medical Center for further treatment.

Authorities believe the man was struck by the Banshee roller coaster while behind the restricted area’s fences.

The Banshee is described as an inverted roller coaster that reaches speeds of up to 68 mph, offering an exhilarating experience to park visitors.

The park officials’ primary focus is on the guest’s well-being and providing support to his family during this difficult time.

Local police and fire crews responded to the scene following reports of a man sustaining a traumatic injury from the roller coaster impact.

As investigations into the incident continue, the Banshee roller coaster remains closed to the public.

No further updates have been provided by park officials, as they cooperate with authorities to determine the circumstances surrounding the unfortunate event.
