Manchester United Defender Willy Kambwala Completes Move to Villarreal
Manchester United defender Willy Kambwala has officially sealed a permanent transfer to Villarreal, marking the end of his tenure at Old Trafford where he showcased his passion and commitment for nearly four seasons.
The 19-year-old joined Manchester United back in October 2020 from French club Sochaux, initially making a mark with the Under-18s squad in a notable victory over Derby County.
Despite facing injury setbacks during the 2021/22 season, Kambwala continued to impress whenever he took the field, garnering recognition for his performances.
Following a successful 2022/23 campaign, Kambwala earned his spot in the first-team squad and made his senior debut against West Ham at just 19 years old, alongside experienced defender Jonny Evans.
One of his memorable displays came in a 2-2 draw against Liverpool, where Kambwala showcased his resilience and determination against a tough opponent.
In his final appearances for the club, Kambwala featured in crucial matches such as the league fixture against Arsenal and as a substitute in the FA Cup final triumph over Manchester City in 2023/24.
Manchester United bids farewell to Willy Kambwala with gratitude for his contributions and wishes him success in his new chapter with Villarreal.
