Manchester United in Talks to Acquire Raheem Sterling
Manchester United has initiated discussions regarding the potential signing of Raheem Sterling from Chelsea. Reports suggest that Sterling may be included in a swap deal involving Jadon Sancho, who is anticipated to leave Old Trafford this summer.
According to a breaking report from the Telegraph, negotiations have resumed concerning a possible return to the North West for Sterling. The player, who previously represented Manchester City and Liverpool, has been omitted from Chelsea’s first two match-day squads by new manager Enzo Maresca, who has made his stance on playing time clear.
It is understood that Manchester United will only proceed with a swap for Sancho on their own terms. United sporting director Dan Ashworth reportedly engaged in talks with Chelsea earlier on Tuesday regarding a deal described as ‘sensational’ that would involve both English forwards swapping clubs.
In addition to Manchester United’s interest, one other European club has reached out regarding the possible signing of Sterling, although the identity of that club remains undisclosed.
