Manly’s Tom Trbojevic Aims for Return in NRL Finals Amid Injury Concerns
Manly Sea Eagles remain optimistic that Tom Trbojevic will be able to participate in the first week of the NRL finals despite concerns regarding a shoulder injury. Trbojevic sustained an injury during a recent match against the Bulldogs, where he was seen clutching his arm and bleeding from a cut above his eye.
In the 64th minute of the game, Trbojevic landed awkwardly after tackling Jacob Preston, leading to the injury. Following the incident, Manly’s coach Anthony Seibold confirmed that Trbojevic is dealing with an issue related to his AC joint, which will prevent him from playing in the final regular-season match against Cronulla.
Coach Seibold expressed confidence that Trbojevic would receive painkilling injections and be ready to return for the finals, stating, “There is something there that can take the pain away.” He emphasized the need to prepare a plan to ensure Trbojevic’s health is prioritized.
Earlier in the match, Trbojevic had also suffered a cork to his shin and received a split to his head, compounding his injuries. Despite these setbacks, there is optimism surrounding his recovery as these types of injuries are typically not season-ending.
Trbojevic’s brother, Jake, shared sentiments of hope regarding his recovery, saying, “Everyone over the Spit Bridge will be crossing their fingers. We need to have him out there.” The importance of Trbojevic’s presence in the team is well recognized among fans and players alike.
The Sea Eagles are now preparing for their upcoming match against Cronulla, which could pave the way for hosting an elimination final. In addition to Trbojevic’s situation, the team will also be without Jason Saab due to a high ankle sprain. Luke Brooks has been placed on report for a challenging tackle during the game.
