Marriott Expands All-Inclusive Offerings in Barbados
Marriott International is continuing its expansion in the Caribbean region, specifically within the all-inclusive resort market. The hospitality chain, known for its diverse portfolio, has recently announced the integration of the Royalton CHIC Barbados into its Autograph Collection. This marks another significant entry for Marriott into the all-inclusive segment on the island of Barbados.
Marriott’s journey into the all-inclusive sector initially began in Barbados with the acquisition of Elegant Hotels in 2019. This strategic move laid the foundation for the company’s burgeoning presence in the region. Among the first properties to reflect this new focus was the Royalton Antigua, a part of Marriott’s expanding all-inclusive network.
The Royalton CHIC Barbados, expected to open in the spring of 2026, will offer 220 all-suite accommodations, providing a range of options including ocean-view units. This adults-only resort will be distinguished by its elevated style, offering a more exclusive atmosphere compared to traditional Royalton resorts. It will feature the Diamond Club, Blue Diamond‘s premium service concept providing amenities like personalized butler services.
Diverse dining experiences will be a cornerstone of the Royalton CHIC Barbados, with 12 different dining concepts, including a rooftop bar inspired by the successful model at the company’s Cancun resort. This resort aims to highlight both the sophisticated charm and unique energy associated with the Royalton brand, according to Blue Diamond’s President, Jordi Pelfort.
The addition of the Royalton CHIC Barbados will bring the total number of Marriott’s all-inclusive properties on the island to seven, complementing existing locations such as Treasure Beach, Tamarind, and Turtle Beach. While exact pricing for the new resort has not been released, industry experts anticipate rates slightly above those of the Royalton Antigua, which start at approximately $535 per night.
The presence of such resorts is expected to enhance Barbados’s standing as a prime destination in the Caribbean, appealing to travelers seeking luxury and comprehensive resort experiences.
