An overwhelming sea of fans flooded the streets of South Mumbai as they eagerly gathered to witness the T20 World Cup-winning Indian team‘s victory parade at Marine Drive. The parade, delayed by a few hours, commenced from the National Centre for Performing Arts in Nariman Point and culminated at the iconic Wankhede Stadium, with thousands lining the route.
Rohit Sharma, the seasoned captain of the victorious squad, led his team with a sense of deja vu, having been the youngest member in the 2007 Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led winning team. Reflecting on the overwhelming fan support, Rohit expressed gratitude for the fans’ dedication and unwavering enthusiasm, emphasizing that the win belonged to the entire nation.

The much-awaited moment of Virat Kohli‘s arrival in Mumbai sparked excitement among fans, with Kohli later joining Suryakumar Yadav and Axar Patel in a celebratory dance at Wankhede Stadium. The trio grooved to the resonating beats of Nashik Dholwalas, captivating the audience with their infectious energy.
The Indian team’s journey from New Delhi to Mumbai, post their breakfast meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was marked by grand receptions at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport and Wankhede Stadium.
