Mega Millions and Powerball Jackpots Continue to Climb
The Mega Millions lottery jackpot remains unclaimed, reaching an impressive total of $453 million for the upcoming drawing on Friday, November 22, 2023. The cash option for this substantial prize is $208.7 million. The winning numbers for the last drawing, which failed to produce a jackpot winner, were 13, 20, 26, 32, 65, with the Mega Ball being 2. The Megaplier was set at 2X.
Although the grand prize went unclaimed, a ticket purchased in Virginia matched all five numbers except for the Mega Ball, earning its holder $1 million. Players who wish to try their luck in the next draw should note that to win the Mega Millions jackpot, one must match all five numbers and the Mega Ball. Ticket holders can win smaller amounts if they match certain numbers, with a ticket matching the Mega Ball alone worth $2 and one matching both one number from the primary set and the Mega Ball valued at $4.
The Mega Millions jackpot continues to grow, with the next draw estimated at $489 million with a cash option of $225.3 million. These drawings occur twice weekly, on Tuesday and Friday nights at approximately 10 p.m. CT. Each ticket is priced at $2 per play, with an additional $1 allowing players to include the Megaplier, potentially increasing non-jackpot winnings.
Meanwhile, the Powerball draw, held on Wednesdays, saw numbers 16, 30, 60, 62, 64, and a Powerball of 25. No winner emerged once again, causing the Powerball jackpot to rise to an estimated $171 million with a cash offering of $79.1 million.
Historically, the Mega Millions has awarded several record-breaking jackpots, including $1.58 billion won on August 8, 2023, in Florida. Other significant wins include $1.537 billion in South Carolina on October 23, 2018, and $1.35 billion in Maine on January 13, 2023.
Powerball jackpots also have a notable history, with the largest amounting to $2.04 billion on November 7, 2022, in California. Following closely was a $1.765 billion prize awarded on October 11, 2023, also in California.
