Former first lady Melania Trump‘s expected limited involvement in the upcoming Republican National Convention in Milwaukee marks a notable shift in her political visibility.

While Melania Trump plans to attend the event, she is not slated to give a speech, distancing herself from previous years where she took on a more public role to support her husband, former President Donald Trump.

The convention’s list of speakers includes top contenders for the vice presidential nomination such as Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, Ohio Sen. JD Vance, and North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum, along with prominent figures like former Fox News host Tucker Carlson and evangelist Franklin Graham.

Despite Melania Trump’s absence from the speaking lineup, the roster features names from various sectors, including singer Lee Greenwood, model and rapper Amber Rose, and Ultimate Fighting Championship CEO Dana White.

In contrast to her past convention appearances, Melania Trump’s decision to not address the gathering reflects her commitment to maintaining privacy and staying away from the campaign trail this election season.

During the 2020 convention, impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, Melania Trump emphasized her husband’s dedication to helping those affected by the crisis, while in 2016, she shared personal anecdotes and praised Donald Trump’s strength and loyalty in her speech.

Notable figures set to speak at the convention also include Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump, Franklin Graham, Teamsters President Sean O’Brien, and individuals selected by the campaign to share their stories and perspectives.

A critical figure in the event’s program is the mayor of East Palestine, Ohio, who previously criticized President Joe Biden‘s response to a 2023 train derailment that triggered a chemical hazard incident, shaping the town as a key moment in Donald Trump’s campaign.

Moreover, the list of ordinary citizens set to be featured at the convention includes groups like students and fraternity brothers from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, parents facing financial challenges, and even Donald Trump’s former golf caddie.
