Michigan Wolverines Basketball Versus Miami Ohio

The University of Michigan men’s basketball team resumes action at the Crisler Center on Monday, facing Miami (Ohio) in the second match-up of their three-game home stand. The Wolverines have begun their season with a 2-1 record, marked by a commanding victory over Cleveland State, a narrow defeat to Wake Forest, and a closely contested win against TCU. Their upcoming game against the RedHawks is scheduled for 6:01 p.m. and will be broadcast on the Big Ten Network.

As part of the Fort Myers Tipoff, the Wolverines join South Carolina, Virginia Tech, and Xavier in the Beach Division. Meanwhile, Miami (Ohio) participates in the Palms Division alongside Jacksonville, Mercer, and Siena. All teams will convene in Fort Myers, Florida, for the tournament during Thanksgiving week.

The Miami RedHawks enter the game with a 2-1 record, having secured wins against Appalachian State and Maryland Eastern Shore, although they suffered a setback at home against Wright State. This game against Michigan marks their fourth appearance this season.

Key to Michigan’s efforts has been the play of Tre Donaldson, who has delivered consistent performances through the initial games. Donaldson has maintained a scoring average of 13 points per game, while also contributing 4.7 assists and four rebounds per game. His shooting accuracy from long range stands at an impressive 54.5 percent.

In his collegiate debut against Cleveland State, Donaldson achieved career-best figures, including 16 points and seven assists without committing a turnover. He continued his strong play against Wake Forest, logging a career-high 32 minutes and delivering a near double-double performance.

Fellow teammates have also shown significant contributions. One standout player has recorded double-doubles in two of Michigan’s first three matches, scoring 19 points with 13 rebounds against Cleveland State and 14 points with 14 rebounds against TCU.

Historical data shows Michigan holds a 5-1 all-time advantage over the RedHawks. The two teams last confronted one another in 2006, with Michigan emerging victorious, 62-56, in a game at Millett Hall in Oxford.
