Minnesota Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch encountered a scary moment during the team’s victory over the Phoenix Suns, sustaining a knee injury late in the fourth quarter as guard Mike Conley collided with him.

The incident, which saw Finch clutching his right knee, occurred as Conley was battling on the sideline with Suns’ Devin Booker, resulting in the unfortunate collision with the Timberwolves’ coach.

Being down for a couple of minutes, surrounded by his team’s players and staff, Finch was eventually assisted off the court, showing evident signs of discomfort following the collision.

The Timberwolves went on to secure a 122-116 win, shutting down the series 4-0 over the Suns with assistant coach Micah Nori stepping in for the final game moments.

Subsequently, it was revealed that Finch had ruptured his patellar tendon in his right knee as a result of the collision, requiring medical attention postgame with Nori handling media duties thereafter.

Despite the setback, Nori commended the team’s resilience and support for Finch, stating that the coach was in good spirits after the incident.

As the Wolves sealed their series victory, Finch, who had been recently recognized in the NBA Coach of the Year voting, was lauded for his leadership that led Minnesota to a franchise record in wins.
