A 15-year-old girl named Alison Chao, who was reported missing, has been found safe, as confirmed by her father’s attorney on Tuesday.

During a press conference, her father, Jeffery Chao, expressed his gratitude to friends and the community for their efforts in finding his daughter.
n
Jose Romero, the attorney for Jeffery Chao, stated that there was no suspicion of foul play or kidnapping in the case.
n
«We’ve been really worried about where she’s been,» said Jeffery. «We really appreciate what everyone’s done and helped out with.» Alison was discovered outside of a news studio in Glendale and is currently with the Monterey Park Police Department.
n
«She’s a very intelligent person and she’s a godly person with a really good heart,» her father added during the press briefing.
n
According to the family’s law attorney, Hannah Bui, Alison’s mother, Anne Chao, has sole legal custody for mental health reasons. She was granted physical custody on a temporary basis just last week.
n
Some of Alison’s friends attended the press conference and shared heartfelt messages of support.
n
One friend expressed, «One thing to say to her, that my sister and I can say, is that I know everything, and my dad knows everything. We are gonna do the best to help you, Alison.»
n
The Monterey Park Police Department also thanked community members and various local, state, and federal partners for their assistance throughout the investigation.
n
Alison was last seen on July 16 in the El Sereno area around 6:30 p.m. while riding her bike towards her aunt’s house in San Gabriel, her mother reported.
n
The search for her began around 9:30 p.m. when she failed to arrive at her aunt’s home. Romero mentioned that Alison left on her bicycle voluntarily.
n
Her family and community volunteers actively searched for her by distributing flyers in the surrounding areas.
n
Over the weekend, volunteers organized a coordinated search, going door to door in neighborhoods where she was last spotted riding her bike.
n
A new search party was scheduled to gather on Monday evening at Fresco Market in Hermon, close to the last place Alison was seen. Many volunteers, some of whom do not know the family, stepped forward to assist in the search efforts.
n
Guy Hashimoto, a volunteer, shared his sentiments: «It’s a 15-year-old girl. So I just want to help out. Like everybody else, it just breaks your heart. You just want to help out if it’s passing out flyers, helping with the search, whatever. Whatever I can do to help out.
