PM Modi and UK PM Keir Starmer Discuss India-UK Free Trade Agreement
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a conversation with the newly elected British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, focusing on enhancing the economic ties between India and the UK. Starmer, who recently assumed office after the Labour Party‘s victory in the UK general election, received congratulations from PM Modi on his party’s impressive win.
During their discussion, both leaders emphasized the importance of strengthening the historic relations between India and the UK. They expressed their commitment to deepening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two nations. One of the key points of their conversation was the urgent need to finalize the India-UK Free Trade Agreement, a long-pending agreement that aims to benefit both countries.
The positive contributions of the Indian community in the UK were also highlighted during the conversation.
