Caretaker Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s swearing-in ceremony for the new government at the Centre, following the Lok Sabha Election Results 2024, is likely to be shifted to June 9.
After the announcement of the election results, which saw the BJP emerging victorious on 240 out of 543 seats, the escalation towards forming the new government is in full swing. The Cabinet met and advised President Droupadi Murmu, who has played a pivotal role in accepting Modi’s resignation as well as his continuation in office till the new government is formed.
Nitish Kumar, the BJP’s winning allies, along with Chandrababu Naidu and other NDA members, elected Narendra Modi as their leader during a significant meeting.
Following the meeting, the world awaits the list of newly-elected Members of Parliament to be presented to President Droupadi Murmu by Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar. The expected invitation to the largest party to form the government will set the formation of the 18th Lok Sabha into motion.
