Mohamed Salah Indicates Final Season at Liverpool
Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has announced that the 2024/2025 season will mark his final year with the club. Salah made this statement following Liverpool’s impressive 3-0 victory against Manchester United at Old Trafford, where he had a significant impact by scoring one goal and providing two assists.
In his post-match remarks, Salah expressed his desire to enjoy his last season at Liverpool, stating, ‘As you know, it’s my last year at the club. I want to enjoy it and I don’t want to think about it. I feel like I’m free to play football and then we’ll see what happens next year.’
Salah further clarified that there have been no discussions regarding a contract renewal with the club, saying, ‘No one at the club has spoken to me about contracts, so I’m just like, ‘OK, I’m playing my last season’ and see what happens at the end of the season.’
This announcement comes amid speculation surrounding Salah’s future, especially after Liverpool rejected a substantial £150 million offer from Saudi Pro League team Al Ittihad in September 2023.
Manager Arne Slot praised Salah’s performance while refraining from commenting on contract matters, stating, ‘At this moment [Salah] is one of ours, and I am really happy with him being one of ours.’
Salah joined Liverpool in 2017 from AS Roma and has since become a pivotal player for the club, tallying 214 goals and 92 assists in 352 appearances.
