Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj received a heartwarming welcome in his hometown of Hyderabad following the team’s glorious victory in the T20 World Cup. The cricketer expressed his pride and joy at being part of the champion squad.
Arriving at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Siraj was greeted by a large crowd of cheering fans who eagerly awaited his return. He acknowledged their support by waving from the open sunroof of his car as they cheered and applauded.
Reflecting on the historic win, Siraj mentioned the significance of the long-awaited triumph, highlighting the immense happiness of clinching the T20 World Cup after a remarkable 11-year wait. The victory parade and felicitation ceremony in Mumbai added even more grandeur to the celebration.
The Indian team, led by Rohit Sharma, embarked on an open-top bus parade from Marine Drive, where thousands of fans joined in the festivities, celebrating the team’s remarkable achievement. The players proudly displayed the coveted trophy, acknowledging the unwavering support of their fans throughout the tournament.
Following their arrival at Wankhede Stadium, the Indian cricketers engaged in a lively dance session accompanied by enthusiastic fans. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) presented the team with a generous cheque of Rs 125 crores as a token of appreciation for their stellar performance.
Having met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi earlier, the team’s journey culminated in a jubilant reception in Hyderabad, showcasing the immense pride and support of the fans for their triumphant cricket stars like Mohammed Siraj.
