Morning Earthquake Shakes Victoria’s High Country
A magnitude 4.1 earthquake hit Victoria’s High Country early this morning, leaving many residents startled awake.
The tremor, which struck near Woods Point at 3:48 AM, was noticeable enough to prompt over 1,400 reports from people who felt it.
VicEmergency sent out a message just before 5 AM, suggesting that there might have been some minor damage as a result of the quake.
Residents in places like Wangaratta, Benalla, South Morang, Healesville, Yarra Junction, and Dargo reported feeling the shaking.
This is being talked about as the biggest quake in Victoria’s alpine region since a magnitude 4.7 tremor hit back in June 2023.
