India observes Muharram today, a significant day in the Islamic calendar marked by solemn mourning and reflection. The 10th day, known as Ashura, is particularly important, commemorating the Battle of Karbala.

Muharram’s observance in India includes closures in various sectors. The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE) will remain shut today. Notably, companies like Asian Paints Ltd and LTIMindtree Ltd will release their Q1FY25 financial results as planned.

Banks across several Indian states will also be closed in observance of Muharram. Educational institutions in states like Maharashtra and Delhi will also remain shut.

The Delhi Traffic Police have issued a traffic advisory due to Tazia processions across the national capital on July 17. Major roads like Mathura Road and Ma Anandmayee Marg will experience disruptions.

Trading activities at the National Commodity Exchange (NCDEX) and the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) will resume after the morning session closure. The commodity market will reopen at 5 pm today.
