Mumbai Indians' Dewald Brevis Showcases No Look Six Against Rashid Khan In Ipl 2024 Opener

In a thrilling start to the IPL 2024, Mumbai Indians’ young sensation Dewald Brevis made heads turn with a jaw-dropping no-look six off the skilled spinner Rashid Khan of the Gujarat Titans. The breathtaking moment unfolded during Mumbai’s pursuit of 169 runs at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Known for his innovative and 360-degree style of batting, the 20-year-old South African has drawn comparisons to the legendary AB de Villiers for his fearless shot-making abilities. Brevis, a promising talent, has been associated with the Mumbai Indians since IPL 2022 but showed his prowess on the field after being given the opportunity in the current season.

Coming in to bat when Mumbai Indians were struggling at 30 for 2, Dewald Brevis displayed remarkable composure as he combined forces with former MI skipper Rohit Sharma to stabilize the innings. The duo crafted a crucial partnership, adding 77 runs for the third wicket, before Sharma fell to a deceptive delivery from R Sai Kishore in the 13th over.

During his impressive knock of 46 runs off 38 deliveries, including three sixes and two boundaries, Brevis showed glimpses of his potential and ability to make an impact in high-pressure situations. In his debut IPL season in 2022, the South African batsman tallied 161 runs in seven matches, with 49 as his highest score. Despite not featuring in the tournament last year, the Mumbai Indians management entrusted him with a pivotal role in their opening match of IPL 2024.
