Munna Bhaiyya Set to Make a Comeback in Mirzapur Season 3 Bonus Episode

Following the significant success of the latest season of ‘Mirzapur,’ Amazon Prime is set to release a bonus episode for season 3, hinting at the possible return of the popular character Munna Tripathi, played by Divyendu Sharma.

A promotional video for the bonus episode has recently been shared on social media, igniting speculation among fans about the reappearance of the iconic character Munna Bhaiyya.

When season 3 premiered, many viewers expressed enthusiastic requests for Munna’s return, hoping to see him bring Bhaukaal back to the ‘Mirzapur’ universe. The directors of the series, Gurmmeet Singh and Anand Iyer, collaborated with an impressive cast including Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Shweta Tripathi Sharma, and others.

However, earlier this year, Divyendu Sharma clarified that he would not be part of the latest season. He described in an interview with Humans of Bombay the emotional strain he experienced while portraying the character, stating, “When I was in character, it was affecting my personality a lot. We shouldn’t over-romanticise going too deep into a character.”

Sharma, known for his roles in films such as ‘Pyaar Ka Punchnama’ and ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha,’ gained widespread recognition through his performance in ‘Mirzapur.’

The release of the bonus episode was initially slated for August 24 but has been delayed, with fans now anticipating its arrival in September.

‘Mirzapur,’ the gripping action-crime series, is available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video. Produced by Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment, the series is set against the backdrop of Uttar Pradesh and depicts the story of Kaleen Bhaiyya, portrayed by Pankaj Tripathi, a notorious mobster aspiring to dominate the criminal underworld.

Since its debut in 2018, the series has garnered immense popularity, quickly becoming one of India’s most-watched shows following ‘Sacred Games.’ The third season was released on Prime Video in July, and plans for a fourth season are already underway, aiming to delve deeper into the complex power dynamics of the criminal world.

While fans are eager to see Munna Bhaiyya return to the series, the details surrounding this potential comeback remain unclear. The release date for ‘Mirzapur’ season 4 has yet to be announced, but it is projected to premiere in either 2025 or 2026.
