Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala are set to tie the knot on December 4, 2024, at Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad. This development follows their engagement in August, which the couple had kept private. Veteran actor Nagarjuna recently shed light on his inadvertent role in bringing the couple together, stating that it happened during one of Sobhita’s visits to his home in Hyderabad.

Nagarjuna, a prominent figure in the Telugu film industry, expressed his admiration for Sobhita’s acting prowess, which he first noticed in her 2018 film performance. «I called her immediately to express my admiration,» he said, adding that he invited her to visit him when she was in Hyderabad.

During one such visit, Naga Chaitanya met Sobhita for the first time. Recalling the encounter, Nagarjuna said, «Chaitanya happened to walk in during one of her visits, and that’s when they met for the first time, if I remember correctly.»

Nagarjuna also praised Sobhita’s dedication to her craft and her journey within the film industry, highlighting her as a «brilliant actress» who stays true to her values. He further commented, «More than that, she’s very warm and grounded.»

The wedding, which will be a traditional Telugu ceremony, is expected to be a close-knit affair with only close friends and family in attendance. This will include the Akkineni and Dhulipala families, as well as other relatives and close friends. Sobhita is expected to wear traditional Andhra weaves for the ceremony.

The soon-to-be-married couple began dating two years ago. Naga Chaitanya was previously married to actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu, with whom he had a grand wedding in 2017 in Goa. The couple separated in 2021, after which Chaitanya and Sobhita started dating.

Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita recently made a public appearance at the 55th International Film Festival of India in Goa, where Sobhita showcased a minimalistic peach-hued silk suit, while Chaitanya complemented her look with a blue tuxedo.
