Navya Nanda Enrolls in IIM Ahmedabad for MBA
Navya Naveli Nanda, granddaughter of the acclaimed Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan, has officially begun her academic journey at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad. She recently announced her acceptance into the prestigious institution’s Blended Post Graduate Programme (BPGP) for an MBA.
In a heartfelt post on Instagram, the 26-year-old expressed her excitement by sharing a series of photographs taken on the IIM Ahmedabad campus. In her post, she stated, ‘Dreams do come true!!!!!! The next 2 years… with the best people & faculty! Blended Post Graduate Programme (BPGP) Class of 2026.’
Her announcement has been met with a flurry of congratulatory messages. However, some internet users have expressed skepticism about the admission of celebrity offspring into Indian educational institutions, making this a noteworthy event.
Navya holds a Bachelor’s degree in Digital Technology and UX Design from Fordham University in the United States. In a past interview, she mentioned her inclination towards the business sector, stating, ‘I was very clear that (I don’t want to join acting and do this).’ She noted that her college experience solidified her desire to pursue a career in this field.
The Blended Post Graduate Programme (BPGP) at IIM Ahmedabad combines online learning with on-campus modules, aimed at accommodating working professionals and entrepreneurs who wish to enhance their managerial skills without pausing their careers. This two-year course requires participants to have a minimum of three years of full-time work experience and at least a bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
Navya previously served as the founder and CEO of Aara Health from 2020 to 2023, demonstrating her commitment to entrepreneurship. Additionally, she co-founded the Nimaya Foundation and established Project Naveli, a non-profit organization focused on women’s empowerment.
To gain admission, candidates must undertake the Online IIMA Admission Test (IAT) or submit a valid score from the CAT, GMAT, or GRE, followed by a personal interview for shortlisted applicants. The total fee for the program is set at ₹20 lakh, excluding travel and accommodation costs for on-campus modules.
