NBC Unveils First Teaser for ‘Suits: L.A.’
Fans of the popular legal drama «Suits» have been given their first glimpse of the new spinoff, «Suits: L.A.,» with the release of its trailer. The series is set to premiere on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at 9/8c on NBC. It promises to bring back the intense legal battles and dramatic personal dynamics that made the original show a hit, but with a fresh setting and a new cast of characters.
The teaser showcases a distinct shift from the previous series, with scenes transitioning from the bustling streets of New York City to the vibrant and sunny landscapes of Los Angeles. The theme song «Greenback Boogie» by Ima Robot, known for its association with the original «Suits» on USA Network, plays as scenes of the L.A. skyline and the new ensemble cast unfold.
«Suits: L.A.» will follow Ted Black, portrayed by Stephen Amell, a former federal prosecutor from New York who finds himself leading a firm in Los Angeles during a time of crisis. According to the official synopsis, Black must confront roles he previously disdained to keep his firm from collapsing. The series will delve into the characters’ intertwined professional and personal lives, uncovering past events that caused Black to leave a life he once cherished.
Notably, Gabriel Macht, known for his role as Harvey Specter in the original series, hinted at a potential appearance in the spinoff. Macht recently posted a video on social media donning a shirt with «H.S.» initials and shoes labeled «Harvey,» suggesting his character may return to aid an «old friend.»
The series brings together a strong production team, including creator Aaron Korsch and executive producers David Bartis, Doug Liman, Gene Klein, Anton Cropper, Genevieve Sparling, Rick Muirragui, and Jon Cowan. These collaborators aim to recapture the magic of the original show while introducing viewers to new legal and personal dilemmas.
While it remains uncertain if other original cast members will reprise their roles, actor Patrick J. Adams, who played Mike Ross, has expressed openness to returning, saying he would «suit up» if the opportunity arises.
The debut of «Suits: L.A.» is highly anticipated, especially following the original show’s resurgence on streaming platforms, which has renewed interest in the franchise. Until its official release, fans can revisit previous episodes of «Suits» on various streaming services.
