The highly anticipated Netflix series «Black Doves» has released its final trailer, giving viewers a glimpse into the espionage thriller set during the festive Christmas season in London. The series stars Keira Knightley as Helen Webb, a character who navigates the dual worlds of family life and clandestine espionage.

In «Black Doves,» Webb, portrayed by Knightley, is revealed to have a secret lover, played by Andrew Koji, whose assassination triggers a dangerous mission for Webb and her associate Sam Young. Young, a former assassin, is depicted by actor Ben Whishaw. As Webb seeks justice for her lover’s death, she risks exposure as a spy working for Black Dove, a covert organization.

The narrative is driven by Webb’s quest for vengeance as she enlists the help of Young, who cautions her about the gravity of their endeavor, indicating the potential repercussions of her actions on the shadowy geopolitical landscape.

Joe Barton, known for his work on «Giri/Haji» and «The Lazarus Project,» created and wrote «Black Doves,» also serving as an executive producer. The series will debut on Netflix on December 5, 2024, and has already secured a second season prior to its first airing.

The cast features a notable lineup including Sarah Lancashire, Luther Ford, Tracey Ullman, Kathryn Hunter, and Omari Douglas. Directors Alex Gabassi from «The Crown» and Lisa Gunning, recognized for «The Power,» helm the series, while production is overseen by Jane Featherstone and Chris Fry.

«Black Doves» promises a blend of intense espionage and personal dilemmas, as characters navigate the intricacies of morality and past alliances in a city on the brink of a political crisis.
