Nfl Week 12 Power Rankings 2024

The longstanding adage that offense wins games has rung true in the 2024 NFL season, as the Detroit Lions and Buffalo Bills emerge as formidable contenders. Holding the Nos. 1 and 3 spots in the league’s scoring offenses respectively, Detroit and Buffalo appear to be on a collision course for the Super Bowl.

In a historic achievement, the Detroit Lions became only the third team in the Super Bowl era to secure three victories by margins of 35 points or more within the first ten games of the season. Their recent 52-6 dismantling of the Jacksonville Jaguars, marked by touchdowns in their first seven possessions, underscores their offensive prowess. Jared Goff, the quarterback, threw for four touchdowns, contributing to a franchise-record 645 yards of offense, leading the Lions to their eighth consecutive win and a 9-1 record for the first time since 1934.

Meanwhile, the Buffalo Bills showcased their grit in a highly anticipated showdown against the Kansas City Chiefs. Under the leadership of head coach Sean McDermott, who opted against a late fourth-quarter field goal to instead put the game in the hands of his quarterback, Josh Allen, the Bills secured victory. Allen delivered, throwing for 262 yards and a touchdown and scoring with his signature rushing ability.

Elsewhere in the league, the Pittsburgh Steelers continued their dominance over the Baltimore Ravens with a narrow 18-16 victory, despite not scoring a touchdown. Kicker Chris Boswell matched a franchise record with six field goals, and Payton Wilson‘s crucial fourth-quarter interception sealed the victory.

The Green Bay Packers maintained their winning streak against the Chicago Bears with a tense 20-19 win, courtesy of a blocked field goal by Karl Brooks. The victory marked the Packers’ 11th consecutive win over their rivals, with standout performances from quarterback Jordan Love and receiver Christian Watson.

In Philadelphia, the Eagles orchestrated a 26-18 comeback victory against the Washington Commanders. Jalen Hurts played a pivotal role, scoring three touchdowns in a match that saw missed opportunities from kicker Jake Elliott. The Eagles have now extended their winning streak to six games.

The Minnesota Vikings defeated the Tennessee Titans 23-13, led by Sam Darnold‘s three total touchdowns. The Vikings remain undefeated against AFC teams this season, supported by a strong defensive showing.

Additionally, the Houston Texans triumphed over the Dallas Cowboys 34-10 in a Texas showdown, spearheaded by Joe Mixon‘s 109 rushing yards and three touchdowns. On the opposite end, the New York Giants, enduring a challenging season, welcomed a bye week amidst glaring defensive gaps and continued issues in pass protection.
