Nicole Kidman Discusses Her Role in Netflix’s ‘The Perfect Couple’ and Husband Keith Urban’s Reaction

Australian actress Nicole Kidman recently opened up about her experience playing the character Greer Garrison Winbury in the popular Netflix series «The Perfect Couple.» In a conversation with British GQ, Kidman shared insight into how her portrayal in the series was received, particularly by her husband, musician Keith Urban.

«The Perfect Couple» is based on the novel by New York Times bestselling author Elin Hilderbrand. Kidman described the series as «binge-worthy,» revealing that both she and Urban watched it together. «I watched it with my husband,» she disclosed. «He’s like, ‘Okay, let me see the next one. Let me see the next one.’ That’s when I know it’s good when he says that,» Kidman commented.

During an event, Urban also expressed his enthusiasm for the show. He remarked, «I saw the whole thing before it came out, binged it. It’s been amazing. I’ve had so many people stop me and say how much they love it.» Urban maintained discretion regarding the show’s plot twists, stating, «I’m the best secret keeper you’ll ever meet. I’ll go to my grave with secrets.»

Kidman also spoke about why she chose to participate in «The Perfect Couple.» She was approached by director Susanne Bier, who invited her to join the project. «I did it because of Susanne Bier,» Kidman stated. «She just called me and said, ‘I want you to play Greer. I think you haven’t done anything like this, and it would be fun for you,'» Kidman shared. She appreciated the opportunity to work alongside esteemed actors, including Liev Schreiber and Eve Hewson.

Kidman described her character as «funny and sharp and witty,» and praised her colleagues in the series’ ensemble cast. «Eve Hewson is the lead, and she’s wonderful, so she sort of had to carry it, but we were all there to support her and help her,» she added.

«The Perfect Couple» has been available on Netflix since September 5, 2024, offering viewers a mix of drama and intrigue set in a luxurious Nantucket setting.
