Nollywood Actor Hanks Anuku Opens Up About Ruined Career And Personal Pain

Renowned Nollywood actor Hanks Anuku recently shared a heart-wrenching story about the detrimental impact of a viral video that falsely portrayed him as mentally unstable, causing significant damage to his career and personal life.

The video, which circulated widely in 2022, depicted Anuku dressed in tattered clothes and appearing to behave erratically, leading to widespread speculation about his mental state.

Actress Shan George was quick to debunk these claims, asserting that Anuku was not insane, while Adanma Luke opposed George’s stance and the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) launched an investigation into the matter.

In a conversation with Facebook content creator Lucky Udu that recently went viral, Hanks Anuku revealed that the video in question was actually a clip from a movie set.

Anuku explained that he was preparing for a role that required him to portray a mentally unstable character, and he was simply immersing himself in the character by visiting relevant environments and meditating.

The actor expressed deep sorrow over the fallout from the video, citing the loss of friends, job opportunities, and producers who no longer contacted him for work, leaving him feeling isolated and unemployed.

Amongst the pain and heartbreak he endured, Anuku emphasized his disbelief that someone would go to such lengths to tarnish his reputation and livelihood.
