Nollywood Actress Lanre Mogaji Opens Up About Marriage Abuse
Nollywood actress Lanre Mogaji has bravely shared details about the abuse she endured during her marriage, shedding light on a difficult chapter in her life.
Mogaji, known for her roles in Nigerian films, was previously in a relationship with actor Jibola Dabo and shares a son with him. Her marriage to former footballer and physiotherapist Victor Ayodele Oduleye in 2006 took a dark turn, marked by abuse.
During a recent podcast interview, Mogaji revealed the challenges she faced, including emotional and physical abuse at the hands of Oduleye. She expressed how she would resort to waiting outside their home until someone else arrived to avoid confrontations.
She disclosed that the abuse persisted for thirteen long years before she made the difficult decision to separate from her husband, four years ago.
Describing her love for Oduleye and the initial stages of their relationship, Mogaji emphasized the toxic nature it eventually evolved into. She highlighted the verbal and physical abuse she endured, even recounting instances of mental torment.
Despite the challenges, Mogaji urged others facing similar situations to prioritize their well-being and seek help, stressing the importance of leaving abusive relationships for one’s own safety and peace of mind.
