Stars of the hit series ‘Normal People‘, Paul Mescal and Daisy Edgar-Jones, have expressed their enthusiasm for revisiting their iconic characters in a potential future project. The actors portrayed Connell and Marianne in the beloved coming-of-age romantic drama based on Sally Rooney‘s best-selling novel.

Daisy Edgar-Jones remarked, ‘I love those characters. It would be wonderful to explore them again. If Rooney is up for writing a new story, who knows… Keeping it open. Always open.’

The acclaimed series ‘Normal People’ first aired in April 2020, captivating audiences on BBC Three in the UK and Hulu in the US. The show quickly became a cultural phenomenon during the lockdown period, propelling Paul and Daisy to stardom and grabbing the attention of numerous film-makers.

Since their breakout roles in ‘Normal People’, Daisy Edgar-Jones has ventured into the film industry with notable projects like ‘Fresh‘ and ‘Where the Crawdads Sing.’ She is also set to appear alongside Glen Powell in the upcoming film ‘Twisters.’ On the other hand, Paul Mescal received an Oscar nomination for ‘Aftersun‘ in 2023 and is gearing up to expand his fanbase with the highly anticipated ‘Gladiator II‘.

Glen Powell, who has been on a successful streak with hits like ‘Top Gun: Maverick‘, ‘Anyone But You‘, and ‘Hit Man‘, has found himself in numerous acclaimed projects. Daisy Edgar-Jones humorously mentioned, ‘I feel like I have a habit of starring with a lot of the men of the moment.’
