Ogbene Joins Ipswich Town in Premier League Move
Winger Chiedozie Ogbene has finalized his transfer to Ipswich Town from Luton Town for an undisclosed fee. The 27-year-old player, originally from Cork, has signed a four-year contract with the newly promoted Premier League side.
Ogbene expressed his enthusiasm for the opportunity, stating, “I’m very excited and feel lucky to have this opportunity to play in the Premier League again. It’s an opportunity I had to grab with both hands and I can’t wait to be involved as soon as possible.”
The player began his career at Cork City and Limerick before moving on to clubs such as Brentford, Rotherham, and Luton. His performance last season saw him score four goals in 30 appearances in the top flight.
Ogbene’s signing marks Ipswich’s recent success in acquiring Ireland internationals, following the recent additions of Sammie Szmodics from Blackburn and Dara O’Shea from Burnley under the guidance of manager Kieran McKenna.
