Olympic Gymnast Jordan Chiles Shares Post-Olympics Ambitions

Jordan Chiles, a 23-year-old Olympic gold medalist, recently conveyed her aspirations for the future during an appearance at the Teen Vogue Summit 2024, held on November 23 in Los Angeles. Amidst a discussion with the audience, Chiles emphasized her desire to venture beyond gymnastics and explore new opportunities.

«The future is such a huge word, but there are so many things that you can do within that future,» Chiles stated, addressing a frequent question about her next steps after a successful sports career. Revealing her interest in real estate, Chiles said, «I love building. I love being creative. I love seeing things just be designed in different ways.»

Moreover, Chiles highlighted the significance of personal branding, stating that expanding her identity beyond athletics is crucial. «Do I want to become an actress? 100%. Do I want to sing? Sure,» she remarked, adding that she is focused on ensuring that «Jordan Chiles is Jordan Chiles, not just as an athlete, but also as a human.»

Reflecting on her evolution, Chiles described a shift in her understanding of success. «When I was younger, I thought success was just going to school every day,» she shared. Her perspective now includes broader aspects, such as community involvement and personal growth, explaining, «I still to this day don’t consider myself famous… because I feel like I still have more to do within my community, more to do within myself. I need to mature.»

Chiles’ comments came shortly after a challenging period, as she faced the disappointment of losing her medal at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris due to technical issues that could not be contested. Despite this setback, she has learned the importance of resilience and standing firm, crediting her friend and teammate for supporting her through the experience.
