Orlando Magic’s Jalen Suggs Exits Game Against Detroit Pistons with Hamstring Injury
Orlando, Fla. — Orlando Magic guard Jalen Suggs was forced to leave the court on Saturday night during the game against the Detroit Pistons due to a sore left hamstring. The Magic announced that Suggs is doubtful to return for the remainder of the game.
Suggs, who suffered the injury during the first half, did not remain on the bench initially but returned to watch from the sidelines after halftime. Following his departure, Anthony Black, a second-year guard for the Magic, commenced the second half of the game in Suggs’ place.
Before exiting the match, Suggs contributed two points and one assist over nine minutes of play. Throughout the season, Suggs has been averaging 15.5 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game. He has also made significant defensive contributions with an average of 1.5 steals and 1.2 blocks per game.
Marc J. Spears of ESPN reported the update on Suggs’ condition, stating that the guard’s return to the court is unlikely during the current matchup. As a result of Suggs’ injury, fellow teammates Anthony Black, Cole Anthony, and Gary Harris are expected to experience an increase in playing time.
This report will be updated as more information becomes available regarding Suggs’ injury status and further developments in the game.
