Osun State Governor Hosts First Lady of Nigeria for Launch of Alternative High Schools for Girls

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, welcomed the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, to a grand reception for the launch of Alternative High Schools for Girls. The event took place at Oke Dio, Ayepe, Osogbo.

Governor Adeleke praised Senator Tinubu’s dedication to public service and her significant contributions to societal development. He described her as a woman of virtue and a political pillar for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Addressing the audience, Governor Adeleke highlighted the importance of the initiative and commended Senator Tinubu for selecting Osun State as the host for the alternative high school.

The Governor reiterated his commitment to promoting girl child education in Osun State and outlined various programs aimed at empowering women and addressing sexual violence.

In her address, the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and shared her decade-long advocacy for special schools for young girls. She emphasized the need to bridge the education gap for girls and pledged to support the project nationwide.

Senator Tinubu also praised the collaborative efforts with the First Lady of Osun State, Mrs. Titilola Adeleke, in advancing girls’ education in the region.

The Executive Secretary of Universal Basic Education, Dr. Ahmed Bobboi, commended the Adeleke administration for its contributions to basic education in Osun State and expressed confidence in the success of the new alternative high school.

The event was attended by eleven states’ first ladies, the wives of top government officials, and other prominent women leaders.
