The City of Ottawa is stepping up to fix some signs found in the parking garage at City Hall after a translation error was spotted.

Rideau-Vanier Coun. Stéphanie Plante shared a photo of the signs on social media, pointing out the mistake in the French word for reserved.

One sign displayed the word «Reservé,» while another incorrectly said, «Resérvé. Les véhicules des contrevenants seront remorques à leurs frais.» The first sign was missing an accent over the first «é» in «réservé,» and the second sign had the accent on the wrong letter. To top it off, the word «remorques» needs an accent over the second «e» as well, making it «remorqués.»

Stéphanie Plante updated on Tuesday that city staff would be taking care of replacing those signs in the parking garage soon.
