Pacific Power Foundation Distributes Grants to Enhance Communities in Oregon, Washington, and California
The Pacific Power Foundation has announced the distribution of $175,000 in grants to various community-serving organizations based in Oregon, Washington, and California. These grants are aimed at supporting a wide array of initiatives, ranging from affordable housing and job training to environmental conservation and nature-based education.
Ryan Flynn, the director of the Pacific Power Foundation and president of Pacific Power, emphasized the importance of these contributions, stating, «These organizations lift up our communities and protect our natural surroundings for future generations. It is an honor to support their inspiring work and help build communities where everyone can flourish.»
The foundation awarded a total of 63 grants as part of its annual funding round focused on community enhancement and environmental respect. Among the diverse projects funded, initiatives in Oregon are notably varied. In Benton County, the Conservation Biology Institute received support, while in Clatsop County, the Arch Cape Falcon Cove Beach Community Club and Wildlife Center of the North Coast were among the beneficiaries.
Coos County organizations, including the City of Coos Bay and South Coast Development Council, Inc., secured grants, as did Deschutes County’s 350Deschutes and BendNEXT Foundation. In addition, One Community Health in Hood River County and Freedom Farms in Jackson County were beneficiaries.
Klamath County initiatives, such as the Assistance League® of Klamath Basin and CASA for Children of Klamath County, also received funds. Further beneficiaries include the Lincoln City Parks & Recreation in Lincoln County and Albany Cooperative Garden in Multnomah County.
The Pacific Power Foundation, operated by PacifiCorp, is one of the largest utility-endowed foundations in the United States. Founded in 1988, the foundation’s mission focuses on charitable investments to support the community growth and vitality served by Pacific Power and Rocky Mountain Power. To date, the foundation has awarded more than $77 million to nonprofit organizations.
