Passengers Fall Ill on United Flight from Vancouver to Houston
United Airlines has taken precautionary action by removing an aircraft from service for deep cleaning after multiple passengers on Flight 1528 from Vancouver to Houston reported feeling sick. The incident occurred on Friday, with about 25 passengers on board expressing symptoms of nausea.
According to Capt. Sedrick Robinett from the Houston Fire Department, the affected passengers were part of a larger group of 75 individuals who had recently traveled together on a cruise in Vancouver. Upon landing at George Bush Intercontinental Airport, the Houston Fire Department evaluated three passengers, although no one required hospital transport.
In response to the situation, United Airlines stated that they are actively collaborating with health authorities to address the issue. The airline did not disclose the specific cruise that the unwell passengers had been on prior to the flight.
Flight 1528, which consisted of 163 passengers and six crew members, landed at approximately 6:30 p.m. local time on Friday evening. Reportedly, the airline is prioritizing the health and safety of both passengers and crew amidst this incident.
