Path Of Exile 2 Gameplay

The much-anticipated release of Path of Exile 2 is on the horizon, and it comes with significantly higher system requirements compared to its predecessor. Developed by Grinding Gear Games, the sequel’s hardware demands reflect advances made since the original Path of Exile launched 11 years ago, yet it remains accessible to users with slightly older gaming hardware.

According to the developers, the minimum requirements include a Windows 10 or later operating system. Players will need a GPU such as an Nvidia GeForce GTX 960, AMD Radeon RX 470, or Intel Arc A380. The CPU demands are covered by an Intel Core i7 7700 or AMD Ryzen 5 2500X, while 8GB of RAM is necessary. Storage needs are substantial, with a requirement of 100GB.

The recommended system configuration suggests a slight upgrade across components. A more recent GPU like the Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060, AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT, or Intel Arc A770 is advised. The CPU requirements rise to an Intel Core i7 10500 or an AMD Ryzen 5 3700X. Additionally, players are encouraged to have 16GB of RAM to ensure smoother gameplay experiences.

The game’s download size further emphasizes its expansion from the original, being set at 100GB. An SSD is recommended to reduce loading times, although it is not essential for the game to run. Compatibility with devices such as the Steam Deck is still under assessment, with its status currently marked as «Unknown» on Valve‘s platform.

As the game approaches its early access release date, Grinding Gear Games has revealed details about its pricing structure. In a recent announcement, the developer stated that early access packs will start at $30 USD, a reduction from the $60 usually associated with core supporter packs that include cosmetic items and shop currency.

Path of Exile 2 will begin as a paid early access game before transitioning to a free-to-play model similar to the original. The launch has been slightly delayed from November to December 6 to allow for the complex migration of data from Path of Exile 1, a task described as encountering «strange demons» in the process, according to Game Director Jonathan Rogers.

The early access version will feature three acts in its campaign alongside an updated version of PoE 1’s endgame maps. Specific details about available classes and systems remain partially undisclosed, but players can expect a substantial gameplay offering given the five years of development already invested.

Path of Exile 2’s debut follows heightened competition in the genre, with Blizzard’s Diablo 4 also marketing its latest expansion. This positions holiday season purchasers with a tough choice between renowned action RPG titles.
