Paul Pogba, the Juventus midfielder, has adamantly expressed his determination to persist in his football career despite facing a four-year ban due to doping allegations, which he considers an ‘injustice.’

In a recent interview with Sky Italia, the former Manchester United player clarified that he has no intentions of retiring and continues to identify himself as a footballer at heart.

Pogba, aged 31, emphasized his eagerness to challenge the suspension, aiming for a reduction to a two-year ban through an upcoming hearing at the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS).

The midfielder has been sidelined since August 2023 following positive doping test results from both his A and B samples earlier this year.

Despite his inability to play for Juventus currently, Pogba recently attended France‘s thrilling 1-0 victory over Belgium in the Euro 2024 round of 16, showcasing his support for the French national team in Dusseldorf.

Pogba, a key figure in France’s 2018 World Cup conquest, expressed his unwavering passion to return to the pitch and labeled the ban as an ‘injustice’ that he is determined to overcome.

The French midfielder highlighted his ongoing commitment to training and emphasized his desire to come back stronger, describing his current state as akin to a ‘child wanting to be a professional.’

While mentioning his contractual ties with Juventus until 2026, Pogba noted the lack of communication with the club’s management, hinting at a waiting period for the appeal outcome.

Notably, Pogba’s absence from competitive football since 2022 has not dampened his spirits, with the midfielder echoing sentiments of gratitude for the support he receives from fans and expressing eagerness to reunite with the sport he loves.

As Pogba awaits the CAS hearing, he remains focused on his training regimen and family life while anxiously anticipating a return to the pitch.

France, with Pogba on the sidelines, gears up to face Portugal in the quarter-finals of Euro 2024 in Hamburg on Friday, under the guidance of head coach Didier Deschamps and the spirited Les Bleus squad.
